In memory

I looked back in time
I saw my mother and father putting up the Christmas tree.
Underneath the large branches were so many toys
Some for my brothers..some for me.
The excitement is so powerful
Theres a walking doll, "Rita " how I wanted her.
How wonderful Santa is to give it to me.
I know how bad I have been at times
Not agreeing with my mother and hating to do dishes
Playing my loving father like a violen to get my way
Harrassing my older brothers behind
my parents back!!
BUT...Santa still gave me the desire's of my heart!
The joy of seeing us all together again
is so overwhelming
I loved my parents so..and miss them more as I get older.
All traditions, and receipes, and words and sayings and looks and traits,
All began there..at my parents home.
I cry often, and love to sleep
So I can be, once again, with them
I look back at mom's  life, and wonder how she felt
when she reached my age
When she saw the wrinkles around her mouth
The grey hair in abundance, and her
patience worn thin
My father being teased,
for driving like and old fart!
getting a little silly over a blackberry brandy
And, always just PUTTING up with
all my shinaningans

How did my father love us soo much
After all, we weren't his children..
At least not biologically
Oh!  BUT he DID!
No one would have ever known  he was my stepdad
The love and kindness he showed us was like
The  love of God for his children
I guess it just all go's together
Father, children, love, forgiveness
And knowing we will all see each other
someday.
Do you think we can relate to Our heavenly father
Such a far better Santa Claus, then we have ever known
Always giving us good gifts
Even when we don't deserve them
I want to acknowledge my family here and in heaven
And my fathers...the one who loved me unconditional
and the one who gave his life for me , so that I could live !!!
My mother who worked her hands off at a check out
till all hours of the nite
So we would never be deprived
And my God, "Jesus"
Who gave his life for me even when I was dead in sin.
Thank you for my past and my future
For my memories, and my anticipations .
I am blessed
