Memorial Day Parade

So the day started with Beau & Mona weeding the flower beds.

We thought of going riding together, BUT, Beau did mention

he wanted to go to the parade.

Well, the parade lined up in front of our house..and low and behold

I see an alien backing out of my driveway...dressed in red,white and blue.

Looking just like an American flag. Who could it be ??, and where is he going.

I guess I misunderstood him...He wanted to be in the parade....not go to!

So, there he was.. in all his glory...He has got to be one of the cutest

" Parader-crasher " ( new word, created by me! ) I ever met !!

Last week Gabrielle received an award for the poster she made for AAA

( Automobile Club ).

She was the 7th grade winner, at Coxsackie-Athens Middle School.

Marie was stuck working late...sooo..Beau & I went to see her get her reward.

She was given an American Express check for $50.00, and a beautiful framed award . We were so blessed to be there.



They were giving awards to special bus drivers from all the surrounding schools also. ( No !! Poppie did not get one =( ) But Gabrielle's grandfather (on her fathers side ) did.



They would announce a bus driver than a child, then a bus driver than a child.

They announced Joe Perry from Guilderland,( Grandpa ) as most loved driver, than Gabrielle Ciminello as poster winner.

I thought my girl was in shock...she hadn't seen her grandfather in years.

He is a lovely man, but, because of her fathers relationship with her mother...he stepped back and out of her life, to keep peace !



We held our breathe to see him receive his award...But...he hadn't been given the invitation till the morning before the presentation, and apparently could not be part of the ceremony.

What a disappointment, for Gabz... How I wish they could have all been together for a family photo, Gabz and her grandfather...and the awards.

Please pray for her...she is seriously hurting...my heart aches for her!!



The blessing for her is..her older sister Emma, will let their grandfather know..maybe this will be an opening for her to see him..
